Seated in
south-central Henan Province,under the
jurisdiction of Running prefecture in
the ancient times Zhumadian was being
built as a dak in the past dynasties,so
came the name Zhumadian and another name
Yicheng.It was and is also called "the
heartland under the sky", "Grand
prefecture on the central China
earth","the Road to Nine states"（namely
all China). Zhumadian Prefecture
Administrative office was founded in
1965,cancelled in August,2000,and set up
Zhumadian City at the same
time.Zhumadian City has nine counties
and one district,namely
Xiping、Suiping、Shangcai、Runan、Pingyu、
Queshan、Zhengyang、Xincai、Biyang and
Yicheng District,with an area of 15000km2
and a population of 8.2 million.
Zhumadian has
splendid and glittering ancient
civilization,early before Chinese

such as anti-Japanese national hero
Yangjingyu were brought up here,old
generation revolutionists such as
Liushaoqi、Lixiannian、Pengxuefeng、Zhangzhen
had lived and fighted here .Zhumadian
has beautiful mountains,rivers and
charming sight,has a lot of precious
products,good climate,plentiful
resources,shows the world an extremly

line since the ancient times
Beijing-Guangzhou railway,
Beijing-zhuhai expressway,No106、107
state level highway run through the city

Located in the middle
latitudes belt,belonging to transitional
climate type from the north subtropical
zone to warm-temperate zone,Zhumadian
has a pleasant climate with abundant
sunlight,plenty of rainfall,and four
clear-cut seasons .The annual average
temperature ranges from 14.6℃ to 15℃
,and the annual average precipitation is
between 860mm and 980mm. The favourite
climate provides good crop,Zhumadian is
abundant in wheat、 corn、 sesame、 peanut、
bean、 cotton、 tobacco,
so it is national and provincial
important grain and oil production
base,commonly called The granary of the
central plains、The plant oil bank of the
central state、The kingdom of sesame.The
annual output of grain accounts for 10
percent of Hennan province,and the
annual output of sesame accounts for 10
percent of the world total output.The
annual output oil crops ranks first in
Henan province,with meats output
second,fowls
third.Pingyu、Biyang、Zhengyang are the
largest production counties respectively
for white sesame seed、mushroom and
peanuts product in the whole
country.Zhumadian has broad mineral
areas and is rich in mineral
resourses.Primaryexploration shows over
40 kinds of minerals. The deposits of
chemical calcareous roch、quarts sand and
fluorite respectively rank first,second
and fourth in Henan province.The
deposits of coal、petroleum and rutile
are quite abundant.
Zhumadian has a long
history and culture with beautiful
natural sights, plenty of tourism
resourses,many scenic spots and
historical relice, In the spring-autumn
periods,Confucius had preached in the
drainage area of Hong river and Through
Ru river,left zilu way-asking relices
.Two of the Great four legends,namelythe
story of Dongyong and the seventh
Fairy,the story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu
Yingtai originate in Zhumadian.In the
north of Zhumadian,there is a natural
stone forest,namely Chaya mountain,the

here.In the south there is
province-level scenic spot-Boshan Lake
with the hill and water of the same

green and precipitous Tongshan
mountain,east lies the largest national

tower; Shangcai county is ancient city
of Cai state in the west Zhou
Dynasty,Qin Dynasty prime minister Lisi
tomb,Fuxi divinatory drawing
pavilion,Xiping countyis iron-smelting
relices in the Warring State periods all
have high value for sightseeing and
archaeological studies,Here is one of
the red revolutionary bases.Queshan
county Zhugou town enjoying the fame of
Little Yanian was the site of the
headquarters of the central plain bureau
of the central committee of the CPC,the
relices has always beed kept saf and
sound .The famous anti-Japanese national
hero-General Yang jingyu was born in
Liwan VillageYicheng district. Several
years ago,the Memorial Hall of General
Yang jingyu was built.

since 1996,namely when Zhmadian was
